Active Travel Romania is a tour operator that offers unique private and small group tours across Romania, featuring a range of activities from general sightseeing to wildlife viewing and wilderness adventures. Our primary goal is to promote responsible, sustainable, and enduring tourism in Romania. We are dedicated to creating opportunities to showcase Romania's natural beauty while preserving these resources for future generations. We believe that conservation and tourism can go hand in hand, and we envision a form of ecotourism that connects people with nature rather than putting them in conflict with it.
Active Travel received the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence from 2014 to 2020, awarded based on consistently outstanding reviews from satisfied customers. I founded Active Travel in 2007 after spending 13 years at the largest travel agency in Brașov. My main motivation for starting the business was to promote Romania as an eco-friendly destination. In 2008, Active Travel became a member of the Association of Ecotourism in Romania. Since then, the company has been awarded the "Eco-Romania" logo for good practices in ecotourism for 4 hiking programs, recognizing our commitment to responsible and eco-friendly tourism. "Eco-Romania" is a certification program implemented by the Association of Ecotourism in Romania (AER). I am the owner and product manager of
Active Travel, as well as a licensed mountain guide and tour guide. I have 16 years of professional experience as a licensed tour and mountain guide, along with 22 years in hiking and trekking. During this time, I have hiked extensively across the Romanian side of the Carpathian Chain and have trekked the E4 European Walking Path in Crete three times, from Paleochora to Chora Sfakion.
Our company consists of three employees and collaborates with a team of licensed guides, both national and mountain guides. We are a passionate and dynamic team with over 17 years of expertise in crafting unforgettable city and adventure tours. Our extensive experience enables us to provide personalized and memorable journeys that highlight the best of Romania, from its vibrant cities to its wild, untouched landscapes. We take pride in our deep knowledge of the destinations we cover and our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences tailored to the unique interests and preferences of each guest.
